Tempeh is shipped throughout the continental U.S.  Order may be placed on the website here.

Project Umami is serious about providing an accessible, nutrient-rich vegetarian health-food product in the form of fresh-frozen fermented plant protein in the form of tempeh made using traditional methods.  For this reason, the tempeh comes frozen, must be shipped frozen and consumed within 5 days of defrosting.  To attain this for the long-distance customer, we provide subsidized UPS 2-day shipping using dry ice.  

Orders are fulfilled on the following Monday after being placed.  Any orders received by Sunday night Colorado time will make the batch shipped the following day.  Orders placed on Monday will be fulfilled on the following Monday.   

Returns & Refunds

All consumable items are final sale.  We are more than happy to answer further questions about tempeh you have ordered, but unless it is incorrect or damaged according to your invoice, we do not issue refunds.  While we take issues regarding subjective defects (smell/taste of tempeh) seriously, and will investigate, refunds or replacements are provided at out discretion.   We are extremely proud of the tempeh that we carry and the tempeh makers who work so hard to produce it using traditional tempeh-making methods so that the true health benefits and flavor of tempeh may be retained.  If you are uncertain about tempeh or have never tried fresh tempeh before, we recommend contacting us at info@projectumami.net beforehand so that we can help guide your purchase process.

Refunds will not be issued for shipping costs. 

Any order that has not yet shipped can be cancelled and refunded, minus a 3.5% fee to cover payment processing expenses. 

Discount codes cannot be retroactively applied to purchased that have already been paid.
